XFL 3.0 is set to kick off next weekend and two local players are looking to make their mark. Nick Holley, a Whitmer graduate, looks to return to the XFL stage where he made a name for himself. Meanwhile, Ethan Wolf of Minster looks to make his first impression on the league.
Nick Holley was recently featured in an article two weeks ago about his resigning with the Houston Roughnecks. Holley was a standout for the Roughnecks backs in 2020 before the league was shut down. He was a fan favorite and top player. Holley has suffered multiple setbacks due to injury but has bounced back everytime to keep his pro football dream alive. This time around Holley will be one of four running backs on the roster, and only one of two that played at the FBS level. Be sure to watch Houston this season and check out Holley’s superb play.
Ethan Wolf will be making his first appearance in the XFL this season with the DC Defenders. Wolf has bounced around various NFL practice squads before landing in the XFL. Unlike some XFL players, Wolf does have NFL experience. He appeared in two games for the New Orleans Saints back in 2021 and has two receptions to his name. Expect Wolf to be the leading Tight End as he has more experience and played college football at Tennessee. Wolf may end of being not just one of the best players on the team, but in the league as a whole.
