Nick Holley will once again be on the gridiron. The Whitmer graduate has signed with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL this past week. He was apart of the organization during its last iteration in 2020.
After five seasons at Kent State where he played quarterback, running back and wide receiver, Holley made the jump to professional football where he was initially a part of the Los Angeles Rams training camp in 2018. In 2020 Nick got his big break when he signed for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. In five games he had 21 catches for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns. He then played for the Conquerors of the Spring League and then for the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL in 2021. He most recently played in Major League Football during the 2022 season.
Nick coming back to the XFL, and to the Roughnecks, his a huge get for the league. During the last XFL season Nick was a breakout star and fan favorite due to his dominance after overcoming multiple major injuries throughout his career. The final roster cut will be on Febuary 8th when each team must submit their 50-man lineup.
