Majors
Chris Bassitt (Genoa) is entering season eleven in the majors and his third with the Toronto Blue Jays. Bassitt had solid year last season, even though Toronto finished last in the division. He had a 4.16 ERA over 31 starts. During this spring training, Bassitt had a 1.74 ERA over five games. He looks to be in similar form to when he led the American League in wins in 2023.
Triple-A
Andrew Chafin (Western Reserve) is entering season eleven in the majors. He was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Detroit Tigers a year ago. He then resigned with the Tigers this offseason. The Tigers have assigned him to start the season with the Toledo Mud Hens.
Double-A
Seth Lonsway (Celina) is starting the season with the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels. Lonsway was promoted from High-A Eugene in June of last season. The San Francisco Giants prospect had appeared in six games last season in Double-A and had a 1.38 ERA.
Jason Bowen (Toledo Central Catholic) will be returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve this season. The twenty-four year-old may not be there all season, he appeared in five spring training games for the Pirates.
Jeron Williams (Archbold) will be starting the year with Corpus Cristi Hooks. Williams was moved up in the middle of last season. Williams finished his college career at Toledo in 2023 and played in the Rookie and Low-A league that summer. Last year, his first as a pro, he was moved up to Double-A by the end of May.
Single-A
Kade Kern (Archbold) will be playing High-A ball this season. Kern will be suiting up for the Rome Emporers, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Kern finished the year with Rome a year ago after being promoted. This will be Kern’s second full season of pro ball.
Independent
Connor Curlis (Findlay) will be returning to the Chicago Dogs this season. He finished the season with the Dogs after starting with the Kansas City Monarchs. Curlis previously played three seasons for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
Ross Adolph (Van Buren) is back in uniform for the Kansas City Monarchs. Adolph, the team’s best player started in independent ball last season. Adolph previously played Triple-A ball in the Astros organization and appeared for Houston in spring training until an injury halted his progress.
International
Adam Wolf (Edison) will be taking his talents to Bravos de Leon of Mexican League. Wolf played three season for the Double-A Erie SeaWolves of the Detroit Tigers farm system. He also had a call-up to Triple-A Toledo. Wolf was released by the organization following an injury.
Deylen Miley (Bryan) will also be heading to Mexicao and playing for Rieleros de Aguascalientes. Miley played two years of Single-A before playing independent ball last year. Miley had a 3.14 ERA last season over 19 starts.
