With cross country season over halfway complete many Northwest Ohio runners and teams are showing serious promise for state championship contention.
At the Division one level, defending girls state champion Perrysburg is currently ranked #4 in the state. They are far and away the best division one girls team in Northwest Ohio. The Yellow Jackets are lead by a host of girls who have all ran under twenty minutes this year. On the boys side, Toledo St. Francis is currently ranked #1 in division one with all of their top five only fifty seconds apart. The Knights are lead by top 25 ranked runners Ethan Cope and Rylan Winkler.
On the division two side, Xander Fackler of Bryan is currently ranked #4 in the state. Fackler has won every race this year except the Tiffin Carnival where he finished 2nd. The junior from Bryan has the fastest time of any Northwest Ohio runner this year. Bryan not only has the fastest division two boy in the area but also the division

Nick Thwaits (Fort Recovery) was promoted to the Double-A San Antonio Missions, affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
Notable Game Updates
On September 11th Connor Curlis (Findlay) gave up no hits against four batters for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
On September 14th Ross Adolph (Findlay/Van Buren) had three hits and an RBI for the the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks.
On September 16th Emily Sreenan (Lima/Lima Central Catholic) took first place in the D1 All-Ohio XC Championships for the Dayton Flyers.
On September 17th Chris Bassitt (Curtice/Genoa) threw six shutout innings for the Mets against the Pirates.
On September 17th Cavon Croom (Sandusky) had four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown in a BGSU win over Marshall.
