WNBA All-Star Natasha Howard has been traded by the New York Liberty to the Dallas Wings. Howard is coming off an All-Star season where she helped the Liberty sneak into the playoffs where they lost in the first round to Chicago 2-1.
The three team deal saw Dallas receive Howard and and the rights to 2020 Rookie of the Year Crystal Dangerfield. Meanwhile, Dallas sent forward Kayla Thornton to New York and guard Ty Harris to Connecticut.
This is a big splash for Dallas as new coach Latricia Trammell looks to make the Wings an instant contender as last season the Wings finished with their best record ever since relocating to Dallas in 2016.
A Toledo native and Waite graduate, Howard will be looking to add to her accolades in Dallas as she already has won three championships, named to the All-Star team twice and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.
Howard is currently playing overseas for Fenerbahce where she has led them to the top of the Turkish Super League and leaders of Group A in the Euroleague.
