After suffering a devastating neck injury in the second game of the season last year, Fostoria’s Micah Hyde is ready to get back on the field.
After a tremendous 2021 season that saw Hyde be named to the All-Pro second team, 2022 was a year to forget. Hyde suffered a major neck injury before the season really got going. Luckily he is healthy now, and did not have to be forced to hang up his cleats. In his abscense, the Bills went 13-3 and lost in the second round of the playoffs.
This season, with Hyde back, the Bills have almost undoubtedly the best secondary in the league. The Bills have been Super Bowl contenders the past couple of years but just haven’t been able to put it all together. Hyde may just be the missing piece the team needed back.
Hyde will be entering the final year of his contract. It is unlikely the Bills will want to let him test free agency or trade him, but with another stellar year there could be suitors aplenty.
Hyde is the sixth Fostoria graduate to play in the NFL. The others being Richard Newsom (01), Damon Moore (99-02), Ken Russell (57-59), Flop Gorrill (1926) and Pete Stinchcomb (21-26).
Keep your eye on the Bills’ secondary this season, you may see one of the best comeback from injury season’s in NFL history (save Alex Smith).
