Da'Sean Nelson Flourishing at Eastern Michigan

Da’Sean Nelson is making his final year of eligibility his best. After making a name for himself at DePaul the last two seasons, the Toledo Rogers grad is tearing it up for the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.
Nelson and the Eagles had a sluggish start to the season before finding their footing. They started the season 1-2 with subpar shooting percentages. Since then they have turned the corner to go 3-1 in their last four games, the only loss coming in overtime. Nelson went from shooting less than 30% from the field to now consistently over 55%. He also only scored a combined 14 points in the first three games, he has scored 15 points or more in each game since.
Nelson is third on the team in field goals made, rebounds, assists and blocks. He is also second on the team in free throws made.
The Eagles have four non-conference games left before taking a run at the MAC title. All of their games are streaming on ESPN+.

Cavon Butler (Whitmer) - Butler had seven tackles including a sack in a Toledo loss to Akron.
Emilio Duran (Ottawa Hills) - Duran had four punts for 181 yards in a Toledo loss to Akron.

Jamiya Neal (Toledo Rogers) - Neal had 21 points and nine rebounds in a Creighton win over Notre Dame on November 30th.
Da’sean Nelson (Toledo Rogers) - Nelson had 19 points in an Eastern Michigan win over Houston Christian on November 25th. He then had 20 points and seven rebounds in a win over Northern Arizona on November 26th. On November 30th, Nelson had 24 points in an overtime loss to Detroit Mercy.

Grace VanSlooten (Tol. Notre Dame) - VanSlooten had 13 points and seven rebounds in a Michigan State win over California on November 26th. She then had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Vanderbilt on November 27th.
Riley Rismiller (Coldwater) - Rismiller had nine points and eight rebounds in a Kent State win over Brown on November 28th.
MaKayla Elmore (Hopewell-Loudon) - Elmore had 10 points and six rebounds in a Pitt loss to Auburn on November 29th. She then had 11 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Northern Iowa on November 30th.
