Clyde, Ohio’s Amanda Cahill is shining a continent away. This season the 6’02 forward is suiting up for powerhouse Grengewald in Luxembourg.
Cahill previously played for Residence, also in Luxembourg, following her collegiate career at Indiana. She also had a short stop in Austalia and the United States when not in Europe. However Cahill is now with a new squad and she is dominating.
Cahill is the top player for undefeated Grengewald. The team is 11-0 in league play. Cahill is averaging 23.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Not only that but she is averaging an astounding 53.6% from three point range.
She leads the league in three point percentage and is third in points per game. She is also top in the league in rebounds per game, assists per game, free throw percentage, two point field goal percentage and blocks per game.
Grengewald is also participating in the EuroCup, Europe’s second highest level tournament. Although Grengewald is not at the top of their group, Cahill did receive the most votes for Player of Week in their fifth game after a 37 point performance.
Cahill is now in a heated MVP race with five games remaining in the season in the Luxembourg season. Keep on an eye on her games as she is having one of the best seasons any Northwest Ohio women’s basketball players have had overseas.
