Natasha Howard and Fenerbahce tore up Europe on the hardwood this season. They went undefeated in the Turkish Super League and won their second straight EuroLeague title.
Howard’s championship-clinching performance was an 18-point, 12-rebound night to bring home the Turkish Super League title for Fenerbahce in a 3-0 sweep over Mersin. In game one she scored 17 points and game two she had 22 points. Her performance netted her Finals MVP. Fenerbahce has won every Super League title since the 2017-18 season.
Not only did Howard and Fenerbahce win the Turkish Super League, they also won the EuroLeague for the second year in a row and won the Turkish Cup.
This was Howard’s second season with Fenerbahce. She has played overseas in the WNBA offseason since 2014 and this has been her most succesful stint yet. She led the team in offensive rebounds per game, steals per game and field goals made, and was second on the team in points per game in Super League play. She was also third in the league in steals per game.
Howard can add her Finals MVP to her trophy case of accolades. Howard was named WNBA Defensive POY in 2019, is a 2x WNBA All-Star, 2019 WNBA First Team All-Pro, 2x WNBA Defensive First Team, WNBA Most Improved Player in 2018, was 2x First Team-ACC in college and was Ohio Ms. Basketball in 2010 while starring at Toledo Waite.
