A pair of Toledo St. John’s graduates sign free agent deals following the conclusion of the NFL draft. Eastern Michigan lineman Brian Dooley and Toledo linebacker Dallas Gant look to make an NFL roster this upcoming season. Both were undrafted free agent signings.
Both Dooley and Gant graduated from Toledo St. John’s in 2018. Dooley headed to Eastern Michigan and Gant headed to Ohio State before transfering to Toledo. Dooley was a five year starter on the offensive line for the Eagles. He was Third-Team All-MAC in 2021 and Second-Team All-MAC in 2022 and 2023. Gant played for two years at Toledo where he had 232 total tackles and was twice named First-Team All-MAC.
Brian Dooley will be suiting up for the Tennessee Titans. In addition to Dooley, they took an offensive lineman in the first round and also signed another as an undrafted free agent. Dallas Gant will be suiting up for the Minnesota Vikings. Gant was one of three linebackers the Vikings signed as undrafted free agents.
If Dooley or Gant takes the field in the NFL, they will be the first Toledo St. John’s graduates to play in the NFL since Jack Mewhort in 2017.
